Navigating the Juvenile Justice System<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

The juvenile justice system process can seem very complex because of the vast number of agencies that may be involved, including schools, social service agencies, community-based organizations, and county probation offices. However, despite this complexity, the fact is that many charges are often resolved at a relatively early stage in the process, particularly if they do not involve violent offenses, or if the accused has no prior criminal history.<\/p>\n

If the case proceeds through the system, depending upon the nature of the charge and the background of the accused, a juvenile may face a variety of dispositions, not all of which have serious long-term repercussions. These may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
<\/i> Informal probation<\/td>\n<\/i> Formal probation<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
